Birthday

Allsorts challenge week16 . Anything goes as long as it's not stamped in anyway .This gives me .the chance to show a beautiful decoupage design . I'm not really a fan and it's a bit old hat these days but I just love the colours. The sentiment was printed on the computer.

Birthday

Mojo Monday challenge 101. Sorry folks , just had another look at the sketch and I have placed my image in the wrong place. I like the card so I am going post it anyway cos it took ages to do.I've used purple card stock ,the red is paper pizazz and vellum with a purple design .I drew a circle around the stamped image and punched holes evenly around the edge which I then threaded with ribbon .The flower on her hat has small sparkle gem as does the flower in the top corner .The image is from Pink Cat ,I have not found anyone in Australia stocking this particular plate of stamps but you can order them from the UK.

Baby card

CRAFT challenge 14 all about embossing. Cute Card Thursday New Beginings . I love to dry emboss,I don't have a fancy machine to do all the hard work, just a little patience. I love the Fleur DE Ly's shape .The embossing has been finished off with blue chalks .I've combined this with the CCT challenge and made a very posh card for a bit of baby bling. The card has tiny turquoise crystals which have been set into an embossed hole. The flowers are punched from vellum with a flat pearl in the centre.

Birthday

Pink Elephant challenge 29 . No pink elephants but gold instead. This very simple layout gave me the chance to use this beautiful stamp the star . I bought in India and it is a solid piece of wood which has a perfectly flat surface and it has been intricately carved to make this cute elephant.I don't get to use it often enough. All the paper used is birthday wrap, my only real contribution was to punch out the circles and flowers.I have stamped and heat embossed the elephant.I don't usually use peel offs but it ties in with the rest of the card.

Sophisticat

SophistiCat Challenge have lots of candy on offer, go over and check out their site. The goodies will run until 12th September ,challenge launch is 7th September. There are too many goodies to list ,you have to see for yourself.

Tag shaped Christmas card

Cupcake challenge 54.The theme this week is a shaped card.I've chosen to make an over sized tag shaped card.I cut a piece of card 28cm x 8cm and folded it in half ,then I shaped the corners.I covered the whole thing with a snowflake paper in blues and white which is hard to see .Using silver peel off strips I did the borders. I tore the edges of a piece of vellum which I studded with small seed beads .The snowflake charm is from Artwork stickers.the silver ric rac was already decorated when I bought it.A silver ribbon and bow to finish.

torn paper

Allsorts challenge week 15. Not only do we have a sketch to follow but also to add torn paper to the layout in some shape or form.I've chosen red and green ,this could almost be a Christmas card if I changed the greeting. The patterned paper was a craft magazine freebie, the image is from Fred She Said. Three buttons with ribbon add a sentiment and it's done.

Flowers

Card Patterns sketch 29 and Daring cardmakers anniversary theme. I've managed to combine two challenges today.I covered a piece of card stock with pink paper then cut a piece of vellum to go over the top . the heart was covered in silver wrapping paper then stamped and heat embossed .A few beads on some florist wire, punched flowers in pink and vellum and a silver ribbon .All these bit'n'bobs came from my stash. Not one of my better attempts.

Vellum with flowers

Friday Sketchers challenge 66. I've played around with the sketch ever so slightly, but all the components are there. My circle is a flower and instead of having it on top of the square panel I have sandwiched it underneath a sheet of vellum. The tiny flowers are punched vellum with a sparkle in the middle. The picture is not very good as it does not show off the sparkle droplets of water scattered over the picture.I will try and get a better shot.

flowery tag with buttons

B is for button over at the ABC challenge this week. I've been looking through a card making book by Shirley Toogood and have adapted one of the cards.I started with a white card stock which I sprayed with water, then I added brush strokes in pink and blue whilst it was still wet.The backing paper is Fleur from dena designs.I cut a tag ,inked the edges and then dry embossed.I used white oil pastels over the relief.A few flowers with buttons and ribbon to finish off.

Travel

Spoonful of Sugar have a theme of travel this week, challenge 65. I feel as though I have cheated as all the bits 'n' bobs were ready made and I usually like to make my own tags etc. The background paper is notepaper from Office Works. The stickers are from Jenmark.I've inked the edge of the card to look worn.Cards for men seem a bit thin on the ground so I think this would be good.

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Cupcake Craft challenge week 53. Its Birthday time so it's all about about cake this week. My cupcakes were made by reducing a template pattern from Valitas Designs .If you like something a bit different check out her site.Valita has lots of good ideas ,a few freebies and some unusual Iris folding patterns. I've embossed each layer with a different pattern,a ribbon to finish. The birthday stamp is from Kaiser Stamps, it's the first time I've used it and to get a clear image I have had to cut away all the excess rubber from round the edges. Not impressed.

Pin Cushion

Truly Scrumptious challenge 14. This week the challenge is not to make a card but anything else goes. I almost passed on this one as cards are the thing I do most, but then I had a very small idea. This little pin cushion was made with stiff card covered in pretty paper.A pretty purple ribbon, some daisy chain ribbon and punched pink flowers with a gem stone.I have made the pincushion white so that it shows up well on the photo , I would use a plain fabric in pink or dark purple if I was making this as gift .

Triore folding

My local craft store Regal Craft Cards have a monthly demo and yesterday Rikki Showell was in the seat to show Triore folding. I love to do Iris Folding so this was a breeze using triangles. This is my first attempt but I am sure I will make a few more. I put a dark piece of card behind to show the card better.

Summer

It took me a while to make this one, looking through recent challenges I decided I could combine three challenges together.Card Patterns sketch 28,Allsorts challenge 14 an English Garden and Pink Elephant Summer challenge 28.As you can see I've used lots of paper from denadesigns ,they have really good mixed paper packs ,this one is called 'Fleur'. I love the little bunny image.

Birthday Angel

Delightful sketches challenge 4. This is my first card for DS using the Freebie Friday image from Digital Delights .The pretty background paper I picked on holiday in Thailand, I always have a good luck for crafts when I am away.I am never disappointed crafting is definitely worldwide. I have put a piece of purple paper behind the card so it show up a bit clearer.

3 of a kind with love

C.R.A.F.T challenge 12 .The layout this week gave me a chance to use the hessian toppers I bought many years ago from a sewing shop in Saudi Arabia. The papers are from Heidi Grace and the bits of ribbon came from my stash. The' With Love' stamp is from Kaiser Craft .

A little bit 'o' lace

Lace is the brief from Daring Cardmakers makers this week. I've raided my box of bits for a bit of lace, a ribbon and some sticky coloured dots.

Beaches

The theme this week from Cute Card Thursday is a beach theme. I've gone back to an old favourite of decoupage for this one. Not so much a white talcum powder beach but the rough sand dunes which are great for winter walks. I love this image I can almost feel the wind blowing through my hair. The image is from Monica's 3d sheets.

Animal + sketch

This is my second card today and once again it covers two challenges. ABC challenge 'A' is for animal .Elephants are a favourite of mine so this die cut shape was perfect. All the papers come from different sources but I really like the flock effect of the purple centre panel which is from Denadesigns. The second challenge is from Papertake weekly,Dawnys sketch 21.

Blue 'n' Brown

I've managed a double challenge today.Pink Elephant challenge 27 is for brown ,turquoise and a neutral colour.Cupcake craft challenge 52 is a sketch plus the colours blue and brown. The stripey backing paper was a free gift from Crafts Beautiful magazine. The dark chocolate paper was punched as were the small flowers. The image is from The Greeting Farm ,Geisha Anya.I have extended the body and given her small hands.I can never leave things as they should be.

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge is titled 'Bugs', I hope this means all things crawly in the garden .The image is from Digital Delights, with the addition of a can of worms by me. Purple prince version 2

Well I've changed the butterfly for buttons .Still not sure if I should have thrown the whole thing away . I give my cards to charity so someone may like it.

Purple prince

The sketch this week was nice and easy.Anything goes and it almost did . I tried to put a rub on sentiment on the middle purple bar, when I lifted the rub on off (if you know what I mean ) the sentiment stayed on the acetate and took off all the purple paper leaving it white underneath. The choice was a butterfly or sew on a couple of button s,I am thinking the buttons would be better. As a card maker and a still very new blogger I am happy to show the disasters as well the triumphs. The little image is from Freebie Friday.

Two little birds

Mojo Monday challenge week 97.
As I don't have lots of fancy equipment to cut the circles it takes me a while to make my cards. The larger circle was cut using patterned craft scissors. The little image which I love is from Pollycraft Designs. The background papers were a freebie in one of the cardmaking mags.
